to say sorry for this brief little absence - my head has been so far from blogging this past week & instead has been filled with images of alison goldfrapp dancing on a stage beneath gigantic white balloons...
i will be back very soon though with loads of photos from tuesday's show along with others from my 48 hour stay in nyc. i think im more excited now than i was last time. after all, im going to see two of the most amazing & influential people in my life.

yvan the face hunter, who just happens to be a sort of friend of a very good friend of mine, will be launching his own tv show on myspace tv called, very fittingly - "the face hunter show"
The idea is extremely simple, but sometimes they're the best. Accompanied by my trusty cameraman, each week I'll voyage to a different country, hanging out with up-and-coming artists, designers, musicians and liberated souls... Hang out, yes, but also film their ideas and their lives with a constant eye for adventure. Besides the show, I'll of course keep face hunting, you know it's in my blood...
hes quite the charmer & has quite the sense of humour, so if hes got as good a panache for television making as he does an eye for streetstyle - im excited to see what he throws together for us.
instead of taking various inspiration from hipster photo blogs, ive decided to wear my geek glasses 24.7 because of this woman - julie delpy, who wrote, directed, produced & acted in my newest favourite movie; 2 Days in Paris.
lately, the one piece of jewellery i find myself grabbing for everyday is my mothers old watch. its the exact watch ive been searching for for ages. the perfect, classic go with anything watch. she just recently found it again & decided i could borrow it for the time being. which im hoping might turn into forever.

id love to walk the streets of london, cigarette & camera in hand, rain coming down, ipod set to play goldfrapp's black cherry album on repeat, wasting away my friday afternoon, taking photographs, smoking & drinking cups of tea.
just last week a certain fashion blog that i have a certain love/hate relationship with, featured iekeliene stange as their MOTM (model of the moment) now, dont get me wrong i adore iekeliene, i just think its time to feature more models who havent been as exposed on the radar as some have.
case in point, my MOTM - lara stone.
it seems that every ad i look at, every editorial i love features this same girl, who for the longest time i didnt realize was just any one girl. there she was up on my wall calendar (the francais vogue one of course), on the cover of journal magazine. a cover that i absolutely swooned over the last time i saw it in american apparel hanging up behind the counter. shes also featured in the lust worthy french vogue supplement this month. you know the one - shot by the sartorialist. brilliant stuff. & she even popped up, not too long ago, on one of my favourite blogger friends blog - discotheque confusion.
maybe its because shes so badass (getting kicked out of school & sent away to paris), maybe its that adorable gap between her teeth, maybe its those impossible cheekbones or the fact that she has one of the largest (ahem) chests in the modeling world, or maybe its the way she makes smoking a million packs of cigarettes a day look so undeniably chic?
but really should we have to have a reason? because as stevie said "we all heart lara stone."
i have this horrible late night online shopping habit, where i'll think of all these things i "need" & before i fall asleep ive convinced myself i really need whatever im wanting. & tonight it happens to all come from a little shopping spree at american apparel.
including;
navy acid washed tee. white tee shirt dress. smoke lame bra. i think it'll look great peaking out from under all my other AA tees & especially under my new h&m strapless dress. fabulous. & just for fun one of those cheeky wall calendars they have
my credit card really hates me now.

i still cant believe that in less than a month i will be breathing the same air as both alison & will. its going to feel like an absolute dream!
1. h&m leather dress. the shape is so balenciaga. its mad. i was waiting in line to pay for my other things when i looked over & saw another girl waiting in line, holding the dress, i immediately got out of the queue to ask her where in the store had she found it. "over there on the far left". i ran as quickly as i could in my two inch oxford pumps that i had already been in for nearly 20 hours over to that rack on the far left. there was one left. one size too big but i knew i could make it work. i had to. i couldnt pass it up. 129 dollars. i think it was worth it.
2. another h&m dress. very flapper-esque. i told my mate (who also purchased one) that its the kind of dress you can wear out late to a chic bar, fall asleep in (it makes a very cute nightie, no?) then wake up throw some tights on with it, add a motorcycle jacket & scarf, toss your hair in a bun & be off on your way. thats the kind of clothing i live for.
3. chloë sevigny for opening ceremony tote bag. seeing as everything in her line was way out of my price range & equally as fabulous/lust worthy, i couldnt leave without something from the line. so thankfully they had this cute little tote for 30 dollars. im officialy obsessed with anything chloë at the moment.
4. h&m floral dress. if you are any kind of a blogger im sure youre as addicted to the swedish blogs as i am. & you know those filles love their florals so i was determined to get my hands on any kind of floral dress i could find. too bad it wasnt vintage but i think its pretty perfect & kindof reminds me of the kate moss for topshop pansy dresses from last summer. i love the little sleeves. i am going to call it my tea party dress. 50 dollars.
5. h&m parka. another swedish staple. there were many parkas at h&m but i liked this one the best. the fabric makes it. its so eastern european & so modern. i adore it. i might even wear it as just a dress. 70 dollars.
6. h&m artist collaboration tee. once again from reading those swedish blogs i knew i had to have one. anything artsy is perfect. even better if its on clothing. 15 dollars.
7. lula. need i say anything more? 15 dollars.
8. chanel earrings. one of my (naughty) purchases from chinatown. but they were so cute i couldnt resist. 15 dollars for both pairs. i also got a million more pashminas. im convinced they have the best ones. & for 3 dollars? why not.
9. marc jacobs documentary dvd. you know the one. it was a late christmas present from my mate. seriously, its so great having friends that know you so well. they get the absolute best gifts. merci liz darling!
10. kylie X. to indulge my inner pop dancefloor diva. 10 dollars.
i know, i know. you are all probably terribly bored with my lack of real "fashion" inspired posts as of late. but my little notebook is currently overflowing with blog idea after blog idea & i promise those inspiration filled posts will be popping up very soon.
places ate : amazing italian in little italy (forgot the name), a very european cafe in midtown for breakfast (forgot the name as well) & at the infamous TAO.
things worn : day one: AA double U neck dress in asphalt, long white cardigan, faux leather h&m motorcycle jacket, grey scarf, black tights & booties. with my chanel 2.55 & hair in a high bun. (there arent any photos - day one was quite mad)
day two : AA lapis sweatshirt belted with vintage black skinny belt, black pashmina, tights & booties. with my chanel 2.55 & hair down. (day two was better for photos)
