two thousand and nine : the afterparty.

because i enjoyed doing it so much last year.

click here to download a mix of chilled out electronica, jazzy downbeat house from old volumes of hotel côstes and a recurring trentemøller favourite. use them not just for the new years afterparty but all year round while indulgently taking too long to get ready, lounging in the bath surrounded by dripping candle sticks, for tea & for fag breaks, for the dinner party soundtrack & wine soaked get togethers with friends.

so, happy new year everyone! i get the feeling as each year passes that they only get better & with a la roux trip already planned for the end of january, chats of new york escapades in the spring with my lovely stevie & hopes to finally make it back to london after five long years, i think 2010 might just be the best yet.

here's to you, all my lovely readers - i don't thank you enough, to another year filled with inspiration, to my old friends & to my new ones too.

loads of love, A.

Tuesday

i don't own my clothes but i own my mind and it's not what you've lost but it's what you find.

ph, juliacorsaro

a mass of kitschy secondhand trinkets, vintage shoes and antique furniture. with a single mattress covered in hand me down linens for a bed, sat atop dusty moroccan carpets on creaky wooden floors next to stacks & stacks of loved books, filled up notebooks & the odd chandelier.

i think florence & i would make really lovely flat mates.

Wednesday

streetmarket.

these are my latest finds from new york. two necklaces & a ring.

my favourite place to find jewelry is on the street; where late in the afternoon you can potter through the sidewalk stalls, atop the wobbly tables searching & digging through once loved belongings until you find something & take it home with you to love again.
