let’s spend the last days of summer on a rooftop. sat on cooling concrete, breathing in the late august air. thick & muggy. under the roux sky, where your fingernails get dirty & the perfume of burning charcoal stains your hair. where canned diet coke & cheap potato crisps never tasted so good. where the music plays so loud, the entire neighbourhood could sing along. where your stuck out tounge, imperfect smile & drugged out eyes are forever imprinted on film. where you chainsmoke until you can't stand, falling in a state of lightheaded bliss. where one bottle is passed around for everyone. lipstick-stained. where doing nothing seems to make the days last forever. where the city lights never looked so beautiful, & you never felt so small under the sparkling sky.
