celebrating my 300th with lissy & chloë.

quite fitting that my 300th post would fall on my best blogging mate's birthday, would include both lissy & chloë, each a top girl crush of ours & also that the post encompass something so uniquely & individually me - red hair.

taken from chloë sevigny's new limited edition, hardcover artbook, Reds, which showcases her latest collection this fall for opening ceremony; the above images were shot on location at david armstrong's sprawling bed-stuy townhouse, with only redheaded friends of chloë's acting as the models. also included in the book are submissions of original artwork from artists near & dear to chloë's heart. & features a favourite of mine, aurel schmidt.

'The book began with one simple idea: red hair. Chloë felt redheads were the perfect models for her line of grey tweeds, animal print jacquards, Fair Isle knits, subtle dark plaids, pink flannels, and bright red wools. Gingers also have a long and rich history in England, a major inspiration for the Fall/Winter line. From Chloë's upbringing in Connecticut and her father's New England style of tweeds and Bass Weejuns, to the aggressive style of 70s and 80s punk and skinhead subculture that eventually trickled down to 90s St. Mark's Place, the British-New England connection is featured prominently in the Fall collection.'

definitely adding this to my coffee table/art book collection as well as adding lissy's peach buttondown & that fuzzy leopard cardi to my ever growing fall wishlist. only chloë could make being a redhead look this cool...
